Parent comments:
Our son has grown so much in his social development since using Color My Conversation.  He used to struggle with eye contact, had highly distracting fidgets and preferred to carry on with his own favorite topics. He was unaware of his conversation partner’s experience and easily frustrated when his social expectations weren’t met.  Now he greets people with an engaging smile and friendly chitchat. Usually he engages in thoughtful conversations with others. He asks questions about their topics of interest, uses topic changers really well and is wonderful at using comments and gestures.

He has demonstrated so much ability to have empathy, showing concern when a family member or friend is hurt or in distress. He expresses high levels of compassion and understanding towards marginalized individuals in our church community and the homeless in our city. He is involved in children’s ministries and is being mentored to become a leader. He shows genuine pleasure in working with small children. He shows his leadership qualities by being helpful, understanding and compassionate.

A few weeks ago, his dad arrived home after picking him up from youth and told me how wonderful it was to have our son get in the car with a big smile, making eye contact, offering a greeting and then proceeding to check in to see how dad’s day had gone.  He was genuinely interested and initiated a mutual conversation with his father.

We frequently hear from his teachers and leaders about the vast improvement they notice in his ability to engage socially, their pleasure in working with him, his ability to lead a group and setting higher standards, his positive reception by peers in his social settings, contributions and his funny sense of humor adding to the group dynamics.

Now our son is helping me teach CMC to his younger siblings.  We are learning it together now as a family.   After years of heartache and social rejection this is like healing in his heart and soul.  We are blessed to know Rosslyn and feel privileged that our son is working with her.  Color my Conversation continues to be a blessing to our family.
